Apple iphone X - First Impressions
Pricekart
14th September, 2017

Apple has recently unveiled a bunch of products during the Apple launch event in California. Here, the company unveiled its much-awaited 10th-anniversary edition of iPhone, called as the Apple iPhone X, which was the center of attraction during the launch event. The iPhone X is packed with an Apple A11 processor. It is the first Apple chipset to come with six cores. The Apple iPhone X features a 5.8-inch OLED display with 1125x 2436 pixels resolution. This year, Apple has introduced a dual rear camera setup of two 12MP sensors. The rear camera setup contains a wide-angle lens and a telephoto sensor which features an aperture of f/1.8 and f/2.4 respectively. Moreover, the iPhone X brags quad-LED True tone flash and deeper pixels. Up front, there is a 7MP selfie snapper which is competent to have Portrait mode.

One of the significant features of the iPhone X is its design. Apple has eliminated the iconic home button from its device and opted for an all screen design at the front. There is a glass design present on the front and rear panel of the device. The edge-to-edge screen makes iPhone X the most stunning iPhone we’ve ever seen before.Apple has also ditched the iconic Touch ID in the iPhone X. As there is no home button, there is no fingerprint scanner as well. Instead, the company has introduced an all new feature called the Face ID which is competent enough to scan user’s face and it unlocks the device when the user looks at his iPhone X.The new iPhone X is waterproof as well as dustproof thanks to the IP67 rating. The front camera of iPhone X is capable to make personalised animated emojis which is quite fun.

Hands on: iPhone X review The most important iPhone ever launched
14th September, 2017

The new iPhone looks like one of the least-bezelled phones on the market. The lip on the top of the 5.8-inch screen is the only thing that gets in the way of you and the new operating system, with the effect rather stunning. However, what’s different here is that the screen on the iPhone X extends right to the bottom of the device, with the physical home button nowhere in sight. That’s going to be one of the biggest changes for any Apple fans looking for continuity in their iPhone experience, as they’ll need to alter the way they whip through their phone. The resolution of the screen has – thankfully – been upgraded from the iPhone 7, as the sub-HD pixel count wasn’t really something Apple could hope to get away with in 2017 in the face of such strong competition from the rest of the industry. The overall mix of technology is great, and really brings about a special-looking iPhone, rather than Apple rehashing the same tired design again.

One of the big talking points about the iPhone X is the 'lip' at the top of the phone, where a section of the 'all-screen' display was cut out to place the cameras. The True Depth camera at the top is needed for Face ID, so it makes sense that a small portion would need to be kept for all the technology - but it does ruin the aesthetic somewhat.the huge display takes the attention in other ways. It's a very light phone as well. It's cool that the phone will only turn on when you look at the screen, be showing it knows you, but the accuracy needs to be tip top.The front-facing camera is excellent at sensing your surroundings and your face. The camera itself felt fine, very similar to previous iterations – in short, this was all about being able to sense the surroundings rather than taking better photos, which was interesting.Pumping at the heart of the iPhone X is the new A11 Bionic chipset, designed to handle the heavy lifting the new iPhone is calling on it for.

  • Screen is stunning
  • New user interface is intuitive
  • Portrait Lighting is effective
  • Face ID was erratic in demos
  • Cost is so, so high

iPhone X hands-on: High price, new screen, no home button
13th September, 2017

The first Apple phone to have a 5.8-inch screen with ultra slim bezels. iPhone X has a really pleasing heft and design. The first to use an OLED screen, a different technology than the typical LCD panels, which Apple says will make colors absolutely pop. The iPhone X is also the first iPhone to completely do away with the iconic home button. It's the first to offer Face ID as a new way to securely unlock the phone and pay in the check-out line. The iPhone X is Apple's only new device to nab a portrait mode on the front-facing camera, optical image stabilization for both rear 12-megapixel camera lenses, and a new feature to animate poop. Wireless charging mats aren't new, but Apple wants to make one for your iPhones.

Face ID, which uses a bunch of cameras, including the front-facing camera and IR camera, to scan your face and let you into your iPhone. The iPhone X's boldness is exactly what makes it Apple's extra-special cherry on top to mark the 10th anniversary of the very first iPhone in 2007, which revolutionized at that time everything a smartphone could be and hurled us on the path that led to what smartphones are today. You can create a new, living breed of emojis with iPhone X. Called animoji (a portmanteau of "animated" and "emoji"), the new feature taps into Face ID to lend popular emoji, mostly animals for now, your expressions in a message.
