Tuned up Moto G4 Plus review
7th November, 2016

Excellent build with high-quality (if not premium) materials. Fingerprint reader is a bit of an eyesore; The display is sharp, bright and with accurate colors; we do wish the Vibrant option offered a stronger...well, vibrancy; pretty battery life, considering the hardware, quick charging makes top-ups a breeze; we wish, the battery was user-removable, though;Pristine Android flies on the mid-range hardware; the few apps Moto did add bring extra value (the Moto Screen is the next best thing to having an always-on);The chipset is slightly outdated fast enough for general use, but the GPU is weak for 1080p and most games will play with reduced graphics level; It does still offer a likely update path to Android Nougat. The review unit had some significant problems with video playback on the default player; Audio output was also compromised, so, we can't judge on the audio quality.

A quite good 16MP camera for the money, with a simple but powerful interface and extensive manual controls; Panorama mode is terrible; the selfie camera is also pretty good; Good quality 1080p videos, but audio could have been better; skip the HDR video mode, it doesn't do much;

  • Front-mounted fingerprint reader
  • dedicated microSD card slot (up to 256GB)
  • Water repellent nano-coating
  • Older chipset only capable of 1080p video capture
  • No NFC or magnetometer (digital compass)
  • The battery is not user-replaceable

Moto G4plus review
18th July, 2016

The Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus are two phones cut from the same cloth, with nearly identical appearance. Both phones represent a significant departure from last year's Moto G design, dropping the speaker underneath the display and instead moving it up top to the earpiece, and revamping the rear dimple/camera layout: while the iconic Motorola dimple is back, this time it's a part of the removable back panel itself, and lives separate from the camera assembly above it..and  5.5-inch 1080 x 1920 panel.Motorola's clear that neither G4 is waterproof nor intended to be submerged, but the phones still get a water-repellent nanocoating to help keep them functional through the occasional light splash – just don't go nuts.Moto G4 Plus run the same silicon, with each phone powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor...

  • Great value for a mid-range phablet
  • Quality, affordable upgrades over the base model
  • Battery life sufficient to get through a heavy day
  • Really well done cross-carrier support
  • Neither camera option manages to blow us away
  • Large, light phone risks feeling a little cheap

Motorola Moto G4 Plus review:A minor step up, but not the best deal
6th July, 2016

If the fingerprint scanner had worked at the point of sale Android Pay, the G4 Plus would be an easy recommendation over its less expensive twin. But its lack of NFC means you won't be paying for cabs and Chicken McNuggets at the register.sharp 5.5-inch displays with full HD resolutions (1,920x1,080-pixels). They're the same physical size and have the same processors, 3,000mAh batteries, and 5-megapixel front-facing cameras. They're both water-resistant (they can take a dunking), and have microSD expansion slots (up to 128GB) for cheap and easy storage upgrades.it's water resistant.Moto G4 Plus is a great phone. It's a solid all-rounder for texts, emails, and Instagrams that will leave you plenty of cash in the bank to splash on sweets or cookies or whatever you kids are into these days

  • In addition to retaining its sibling's water-resistant body
  • Full HD screen
  • The Moto G4 Plus adds a fingerprint sensor
  • Slightly better camera
  • That fingerprint scanner confusingly looks like a home button
  • The lack of NFC means you can't use the phone for contactless payments
