The Chinese OEM, Xiaomi is reportedly planning for the next generation smartphone device to take on major brands like Apple and Samsung. Specifications of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5s were recently leaked on Weibo. However, the Xiaomi Mi 5s moniker and its specifications are not confirmed by the company yet.
According to the leaks, the Xiaomi Mi 5s is expected to feature a 5.15-inch display with 3D Touch. The smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 821 SoC by Qualcomm clocked at 2.4GHz along with the Adreno 530 GPU and 6GB of RAM. On the storage front, the device will be offered with 256GB of UFS 2.0 internal storage. The device is likely to run on Google’s latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with MIUI.
On camera specifications, the Xiaomi Mi 5s is expected to come with a 16MP primary rear camera with 4 axis OIS, PDAF, 6P lens, f/1.8 aperture, and Sapphire Glass protection on the camera lens. The camera imaging will be enhanced with dual tone LED flash. The key camera features of Mi 5s are HDR, dark light enhancement, etc. The camera is capable of 4K video recording at 30 frames per second. For selfies, the Mi 5s has an 8MP front-facing camera with wide-angle lens.
For connectivity, the device includes dual nano SIM with the support of 4G VoLTE/3G HSPA/2G networks. The option includes NFC, Wi-Fi, GPS, GLONASS, USB Type-C, and Bluetooth. Sensors on board include an ambient light sensor, infrared, barometer, and gyroscope.
The device measures dimension at 144.55×69.2×7.25mm. The device backed by a 3490mAh (typ)/3410mAh (min) battery capacity. The Xiaomi Mi 5s features the fast charge 3.0 via a USB Type-C port. It weighs just 147 grams.
