Display and Design

All smartphones in Sony Xperia X series have flaunted a standard rectangular design, and Xperia XZ has also carried forward the same legacy. The device has a sturdy built, though it is not too heavy at all. The Power, camera, and volume physical buttons are present on the device alongside a SIM card slot placed at the left. The positioning of camera lens along with the image sensor and flash is also placed precisely on the left side.

Coming to the display, the Sony Xperia XZ features a 5.2-inch full HD (1080×1920 pixels) display which offers sharp and vivid viewing experience. The power button of Xperia XZ also features an integrated fingerprint scanner.

Hardware

The Sony Xperia XZ is equipped with a Snapdragon 820 processor paired with a 3GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. The storage on the device could further extend up to 200GB via microSD card. Opening multiple apps, watching videos, taking pictures and performing usual usage will not encounter any lag on Sony Xperia XZ thanks to its hardware. However, the smartphone gets heated up rapidly especially when the camera and 4K video recording is performed for continuous 15 minutes. The company is planning to fix the issue with an update which will be rolled out soon.

The battery of the Xperia XZ is a decent one. With the battery-saving features turned on, the device can easily last over a day with normal phone usage. The battery of new Xperia XZ is comparatively better than the Xperia Z5 smartphone.

Camera

The camera seems to be the icing on the cake for Xperia XZ device. The latest mobile is competent to capture some stunning photographs in bright outdoors. The pictures taken from Xperia XZ’s camera come out quite sharp and the color reproduction is closely accurate. Even the low light photography isn’t a pain on Xperia XZ. However, the low-light settings could get blurry at times if the focusing of the camera is improper. Shockingly, the zoom in feature on the device could drastically affect the picture quality. Also, the device generally gets hot after the camera usage of 15-20 minutes.

OS

Sony Xperia XZ runs on Android Marshmallow OS. However, Sony has promised to roll out the Android Nougat update for Xperia XZ in a month or so.

Verdict
