Huawei Honor 8 Might Get Official in India on October 12

Huawei mobiles has already confirmed that its much-awaited Honor 8 smartphone will get launch in coming weeks, and now the company is sending invitations for an event scheduled on October 12, in India. Apparently, it could be an Honor 8 official launch event. The latest mobile Honor 8 was launched in China in July this year and afterward it reached to the US in August.

At the current point, there is no information about the pricing of the latest mobiles, but the specifications and features of the Honor 8 are out. The device will be offered in Pearl White, Midnight Black, and Sapphire Blue color options. It offers a dual-camera setup which was earlier seen in its flagship P9 smartphone lacking the Leica optics.

The Honor 8 features a 5.2-inch full HD (1080×1920 pixels) display with 2.5D curved glass display. The device will be powered by Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 950 chipset clocked at up to 2.3GHz. The Kirin 950 is built on a 16nm process which is an older generation chipset if we compare it with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820. The device is also equipped with 4GB of RAM and ARM Mali T880-MP4 GPU. The smartphone has a 32GB internal storage and external memory support up to 128GB via microSD card.

The Honor 8 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with EMUI 4.1 on top. For photography, the device is equipped with 12MP dual-rear camera lenses with dual-tone LED flash. The rear camera also comes with f/2.2 aperture, 6P lens, and Laser autofocus. On the front panel, there is an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.4 aperture.

On connectivity, the Honor 8 includes 4G with VoLTE support, Bluetooth, NFC, USB Type-C, Wi-Fi, and GPS. On the back panel of the device, there is a dedicated fingerprint scanner beneath the rear cameras. The device gets its power from a 3000mAh battery with quick charging support.

The pricing of the Huawei Honor 8 is unknown yet. The unlocked device of Honor 8 in the North American market is available for a price of $399 (roughly Rs 26,550). At this price point, the Honor 8 will compete with latest mobiles such as OnePlus 3, Xiaomi Mi 5 and LeEco Le Max 2.
