Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Launched: Full Specs, Release Date, Price, and Features

Xiaomi mobiles has launched its latest flagship device, the Mi Note 2 at an event held in Beijing. The key highlight of the latest mobile is its 3D curved glass at front and back as well. This is the first dual-edge curved display smartphone from Xiaomi which is similar to Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge while the company is stating it as a two-sided curved display.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 features a 5.7-inch OLED display and flaunts a 77.2 percent screen-to-body ratio and NTSC gamut at 110 percent. The latest mobile, Mi Note 2 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 Performer Edition quad-core SoC clocked at 2.35GHz.

The smartphone will be available in three variants- a 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage priced at 2,799 Yuan (roughly Rs 27,600), 6GB RAM + 128GB storage priced at 3,299 Yuan (roughly Rs 32,600), and the Global Edition 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model priced at 3,499 Yuan (roughly Rs 34,550).

The Global Edition Mi Note 2 smartphone is competent to support the global LTE bands (up to 37 LTE bands). The latest mobile will be available in Glacial Silver and Piano Black color options having an aluminum built. It packs a 4070mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. The device is powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and runs on Xiaomi’s custom MIUI 8 skin.

In the camera department, the Mi Note 2 offers a 22.56MP primary rear camera having a Sony IMX318 Exmor RS sensor, PDAF, EIS, and f/2.0 aperture. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie snapper with Sony IMS268 Exmor RS sensor and f/2.0 aperture. The front camera comes with group selfie feature and Auto Beautify 3.0. Moreover, the smartphone supports 4K resolution for videos.

Xiaomi has touted the Mi Note 2 smartphone with LTE speeds up to 600mbps on the downlink, with a 3x aggregation.

Alongside the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, the company has also announced a new Mi VR Headset. The headset will work on Mi Note 2 and Mi 5 smartphone series. In addition, the company has showcased a prototype Smartphone device called the Xiaomi Mi Mix.
