Vivo U1 Appears Online with Waterdrop Notch Display

Vivo is well-known for offering affordable smartphones with flagship-like features. Very soon we will also see the brand launch a pop-up selfie camera smartphone in an affordable price range. Along with this, the brand will soon also announce a budget smartphone under its new U series. According to sources, the first smartphone that the company will launch under the U series will be named Vivo U1. The images of this smartphone have recently appeared online via Twitter giving us an insight into the design.

From the image, the waterdrop notch display is pretty evident. Like most notched display mobile phones, even this smartphone will house the front camera in the notch. Additionally, the image showcases the smartphone with an almost bezel-less design. However, the smartphone does have a small bezel on the bottom. This smartphone will compete with other popular mobile phones under 15000 like Samsung Galaxy M30 and Redmi Note 7.

As of now, the specifications of this smartphone have not been revealed. Only a single image featuring the front panel has made its appearance online. However, some of the rumoured specifications of the smartphone have also been making their rounds.

The smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor or a MediaTek processor. It will most likely support 3GB of RAM along with 32GB internal storage. We can also expect a 64GB storage variant. Other features that we might see on this smartphone are face unlock and a dual rear camera setup. Face unlock mobile phones are becoming widely popular in the mid-range price.

Moreover, the smartphone can run on the latest Android 9 Pie OS. If not, then it will run on the Android 8.1 Oreo with custom FunTouch OS skin on top. Lastly, the pricing details of the smartphone have not been revealed as of yet. But, we can expect it to be priced less than Rs 20000.
