Motorola is expected to introduce two smartphones at the upcoming MWC 2017 in Barcelona, named as the Moto G5 and G5 Plus. The upcoming mobiles were recently leaked in several reports with specifications and price. The Moto G5 and G5 Plus is the next edition of last year’s G4 and G4 Plus smartphones.
The Moto G5 Plus is expected to be the high-end device from the two variants which could be priced at $300 in the international markets and around Rs 15,000 in India. On the other hand, the Moto G5 is expected to be priced at $249 in US market and around Rs 13,000 in the Indian market. The G5 Plus is expected to debut in India as soon as March.
The Moto G5 Plus is likely to go through major design changes. The earlier leaks suggested that the smartphone will have a new rectangular home button at the bezel of the front panel. The home button will also double as a fingerprint sensor. The rear panel of the device will have a circular camera unit instead of the pill-shaped camera module which was present on its predecessor G4. There have been rumours that the company will offer three colour choices for the device- Black, Gold, and Silver.
Coming to the specifications of the Moto G5 Plus, the smartphone is expected to feature a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) Super AMOLED display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The device is expected to come equipped with a 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset coupled with Adreno 506 GPU, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage with microSD card slot.
On the camera front, the Moto G5 Plus is likely to offer a 16MP primary rear camera with dual LED flash. On the front, there will be a 5MP selfie snapper. The device will pack a 3080mAh battery. It will run on the latest Android Nougat OS.
On the other hand, the Moto G5 is expected to be the affordable variant of G5 Plus. The smartphone will have lesser features than the G5 Plus. The Moto G5 is expected to ditch fingerprint sensor and offer 16GB of internal storage. Furthermore, the smartphone is expected to sport a 13MP rear camera instead of a 16MP camera like G5 Plus variant.
