Honor 8 Pro Announced with 6GB RAM, Dual Rear Cameras

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has recently unveiled a new flagship smartphone in Europe called as the Honor 8 Pro. The latest mobile is the upgraded variant of the Honor 8 smartphone as well as the rebranded version of Honor V9 smartphone which was launched two months ago in China.

The company has already started the pre-orders for the handset in the UK and it is priced at GBP 480 (roughly Rs 39,850) and EUR 549 (roughly Rs 38,100) in Europe. The smartphone is launching in UK, Spain, Switzerland, France, Italy, and Germany and the shipping will begin from April 20.

Looking at the design and specifications of the new Honor 8 Pro, the phone resembles exactly with the Honor V9 and it will be offered in Platinum Gold, Navy Blue, and Midnight Black colour options. The USP of the Honor 8 Pro is its dual rear camera setup. It has two 12MP sensors with LED flash, laser autofocus, f/2.2 aperture, and 4K video recording capabilities.

Coming to the specifications, the Honor 8 Pro flaunts a 5.7-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) LTPS LCD display and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS powered by Huawei’s EMUI 5.1 OS. It is a dual-SIM mobile with a hybrid configuration which means the users can use two SIM cards or one SIM and a microSD card at a time.

The smartphone is equipped with a Kirin 960 octa-core processor with 4 Cortex-A53 cores and 4 Cortex-A73 cores paired with 6GB of RAM. On the storage front, it has 64GB of internal storage and up to 256GB further external storage via microSD card.

For photography, the Honor 8 Pro offers a 12MP+12MP dual camera setup as mentioned above. Additionally, it has an 8MP selfie snapper at front with f/2.0 aperture. The connectivity option on the device includes 4G LTE, Bluetooth, NFC, USB Type-C, and Wi-Fi. The device comes preloaded with Galaxy on Fire 3 game and Jaunt VR app. The company has bundled a Google Cardboard viewer with the device for VR experience. It also has a dedicated fingerprint scanner at the rear. A 4000mAh battery completes the package.

To recall, the Honor 8 was launched last year in India for a price of Rs 29,999. It features a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080p) display wrapped under 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Under its hood, there is a Kirin 950 octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It packs a 3000mAh battery and runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS powered by EMUI 4.1 skin.
