After its launch last month in Spain, the Xiaomi Mi A2 smartphone is finally going on its first sale in India. The sale will start on August 16, 2018, at 12 PM. The smartphone will be available for purchase through Amazon, Mi Home, Mi.com, and Mi Partner stores. The main highlight is that it is an Android One smartphone, which ensures that the phone will run on Stock Android with regular updates for the next two years.
As of now, the phone runs on the stock version of Android 8.1 Oreo. However, the phone will be among the first few devices to receive the Android 9 Pie update. Mi A2 launched in India last week and immediately was also available for pre-orders. And, it will go on its first sale in India today priced at Rs 16,999.
Xiaomi Mi A2: Price & Specifications
The Mi A2 smartphone comes with a price tag of Rs 16,999 and will be made available in Black, Rose Gold, Gold and Lake Blue colour variants in the country. As of now, the smartphone will only be made available in the 4GB RAM variant. Xiaomi has claimed that the 6GB variant will also make an appearance soon.
The phone will come with a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 1080×2160 pixels along with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor. On the storage end, the smartphone will feature 4GB of RAM with 64GB internal storage. If the 6GB variant makes its way to the Indian market, it will sport 128GB internal storage.
On the camera end, the smartphone will come with a dual rear camera setup. The setup will include a 12-megapixel and 20-megapixel sensor. Similarly, on the front, Xiaomi Mi A2 will sport a 20-megapixel camera with portrait mode, beauty mode and face recognition. The smartphone will further be powered by a 3000mAh battery with support for quick charging.
