Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 expected to launch on January 19 in India

Xiaomi is expected to launch its Redmi Note 4 smartphone in India on January 19, as the company has sent out the invites for an event in New Delhi on that day. The key highlight of the Redmi Note 4 is its metal build and deca-core processor.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 was unveiled way back in August last year in China. It was offered in two variants- 2GB of RAM+16GB of storage priced at CNY 899 (roughly Rs 9,050) and a 3GB of RAM+64GB of storage variant priced at CNY 1,199 (roughly Rs 11,999). The smartphone featured a dedicated fingerprint scanner at the rear panel and was offered in Grey, Gold, and Silver color options.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display with 401ppi pixel density and wears a 2.5D curved glass on top. The handset is equipped with a MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core processor paired with Mali T880 MP4 GPU. The dual-SIM mobile, Redmi Note 4 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.

For photography, the Redmi Note 4 offers a 13MP primary rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, and PDAF. Up front, it has a 5MP selfie snapper with 85-degree wide angle lens. The smartphone has a hybrid dual-SIM card configuration which could be used to expand the storage up to 128GB via microSD card.

The Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth, GPS, GLONASS, micro USB, and Wi-Fi. The smartphone packs a 4100mAh battery. It measures dimensions at 151x76x8.35mm and weighs 175 grams.

Recently, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 was surfaced online which provided some key information about the upcoming mobile. The Redmi Note 5 has been certified by US FCC. The alleged device is expected to be announced before the end of this month.

As per the certification, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display. The device will come equipped with a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC or MediaTek Helio X25 deca-core SoC. It will feature 4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. On the camera front, the device offers a16MP primary rear camera with an 8MP front snapper. The device will pack a 4000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. For connectivity, the device will include Wi-Fi, USB Type-C, Bluetooth, and GPS. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is expected to be priced at $191 (approximately Rs 13,000).
