Oppo A77 with 16MP Selfie Camera Launched in Taiwan

The famous Chinese mobile company, Oppo is back with a new mid-range smartphone in its A-series. The latest mobile is dubbed as the Oppo A77 is now listed on Oppo’s Taiwanese website for $364 which roughly indicates Rs. 23,400. The pre-orders in Taiwan will begin on May 19. However, they will be officially made available on May 26.

The Oppo A77 sports a metal unibody design with a capsule shaped home button on the front, doubling as a fingerprint scanner. The colour options are those of gold and rose gold.

STORAGE

It has a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080p) display. The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek’s MT6750T octa-core SoC clocked at 1.5GHz. It is equipped with 4GB RAM and an internal storage of 64 GB. The internal storage can be expanded by using a micro SD card.

CAMERA

OPPO A77 has a 13- megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF and LED flash. There is a 16- megapixel front-facing camera of f/2.0 aperture. It has Beauty 4.0 and Portrait mode which adds the DSLR-like blur background effect. It is different and unique as the front camera neither has a dual lens setup nor an auto-focus to be able to add depth-of-field effects.

CONNECTIVITY

The phone offers a hybrid dual SIM support, 4G connectivity, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth and GPS.

BATTERY

The phone is equipped with 3,200mAh battery and runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Color OS 3.0 UI on top.

Oppo is also gearing up to launch the R11 and R11 Plus smartphones. An assumption is being made that these phones will hit the markets sometime in June. They are likely to come up with a dual rear camera setup- a combination of twin 20- megapixel sensors and a single front-facing camera of 20-megapixel resolution.

Last month, Oppo had introduced its F3 smartphone in the Indian market last month. The Oppo F3 was launched with a price tag of Rs 19,990 and it made headlines due to its dual selfie camera specifications. The dual rear camera module includes one 16MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and a 1.3-inch sensor alongside an 8MP wide-angle camera.
