Huawei Mate 9 Might Get Featured With Dual Rear Cameras, Kirin 960 Chipset

Huawei just missed the expected launch date of its Mate 9 smartphone at IFA 2016. The company may launch the smartphone anytime soon. Instead of Mate 9, the company has unveiled its Nova and Nova Plus mid-range smartphones. Moreover, the launch of Apple’s iPhone 7 might be one the reasons behind Huawei delayed the release of Mate9.

Latest rumors are hinting out that the upcoming Huawei Mate 9 might get featured with the dual rear camera setup by Leica just like its existing Huawei P9.The dual camera setup is also likely to offer with optical image stabilization, laser autofocus, and analog zoom features. On the front panel, the device will have secondary 8MP camera for video chat and selfies.

On specifications, the Huawei Mate 9 might come with a Kirin 960 octa-core chipset with 16nm FinFET ARM architecture on its board. The smartphone could feature as 5.9-inch full HD (1080×1920 pixels) display with 5 finger gesture support. The device is expected to have a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, Mali ARM T880 GPU and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS.

On connectivity, the smartphone is expected to include Bluetooth, NFC, Wi-Fi, and GPS. The sensors on the board will include proximity, light, accelerometer, and gyroscope.

Some rumors are claiming that Huawei is also geared up to launch Mate S2 alongside the Mate 9 in next two months. The Mate 2 will also expect to come with the similar dual camera set up.

Huawei has recently released its premium flagship smartphone, Huawei P9 in India. The P series of Huawei smartphones is an initiative to gather the recognition while the market is already dominated by giants like Samsung and Apple.

The P9 is the world’s first smartphone to feature Leica’s image sensor. The device has a 5.2-inch full HD (1080×1920 pixels) display powered by HiSilicon Kirin 955 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB built-in storage and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.
