Xiaomi’s Huami Amazfit Stratos Multisport GPS Smartwatch Launched

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Huami has introduced a new sports smartwatch called the Amazfit Stratos to the wearables market. The Huami Amazfit Stratos smartwatch comes with built-in GPS and advanced performance metrics. Moreover, the smartwatch can support more than 12 types of sports activities such as running, cycling, mountaineering, triathlon, skiing, trail running, soccer, tennis and swimming.

The Amazfit Stratos smartwatch is most definitely an upgrade from the company’s previously launched Amazfit Pace smartwatch. In fact, this latest smartwatch in the market was also honoured with the Red Dot Award 2018 in Product Design. As for the price, the smartwatch comes priced at $199.99 (roughly Rs. 13,000).

Amazfit Stratos has improved significantly in terms of software, all thanks to Firstbeat Technologies and Zepp Labs. As mentioned above, the smartwatch is capable of offering advanced performance metrics. Additionally, it also offers users advice on ways to change their performance to improve the results.

Huami Amazfit Stratos Smartwatch: Specifications

The Huami Amazfit Stratos smartwatch features a 1.34-inch circular display with a screen resolution of 320×300 pixels. Also, the display is further protected by Gorilla Glass. Moreover, the carbon fibre case and ceramic bezel make this smartwatch durable as well as lightweight.

The smartwatch is fuelled by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor coupled with 4GB of internal storage. Out of the 4GB, 2GB can be used for storing music files. Moreover, the smartwatch is water resistant and can survive nearly 50 meters of water. Along with continuous heart rate tracking, it also supports tracking via GPS and GLONASS.

Another software improvement in this smartwatch is that it lets users keep a track on VO2Max levels. This metric allows users to understand how much oxygen their body is using to transform food into energy. An added advantage of this is, users can understand their body’s state and work on areas that need improvement.

Additionally, not just the fitness tracking capabilities Huami Amazfit Stratos smartwatch can also keep a track of your sleep patterns. Users will be able to sync their smartphone to this smartwatch to receive notifications for calls, texts, emails and other social media apps.

As for the battery, the company claims that smartwatch will run up to five days on a single full charge. Also, because Amazfit Stratos does not run on Wear OS or the WatchOS, it is perfectly compatible with both iOS and Android devices.
