HTC U11 Plus Spotted Online with Bezel-less Display

HTC is about to host a launch event on November 2 in Taipei where it is likely to launch a new U-series smartphone. Now, an upcoming HTC mobile has appeared on TENAA certification site ahead of the official launch. According to the listing, the new phone will be called as HTC U11 Plus that will come with an 18:9 aspect ratio display. It will be the new addition to company’s U11-series of smartphones which were launched earlier this year.

The HTC U11 Plus is expected to be a mid-range smartphone with premium features. The leaked images suggest a glass-like back panel and a dedicated fingerprint scanner below the single camera sensor.

Moreover, the front panel of the handset is likely to sport bezel-less display which is becoming a trend in premium smartphones. The TENAA listing was first spotted by DroidLife. Separately, another phone called HTC U11 Life has appeared recently on GeekBench site which gave some insides of the device.

Based on the rumours, the HTC U11 Plus is speculated to come with ‘Liquid Surface’ design which was seen earlier on HTC H11. The phone appears to flaunt a full display design language keeping the 18:9 ratio. To get such aspect ratio, the fingerprint scanner on the device is positioned on the rear panel.

Prior to this, the HTC U11 Plus was spotted on a benchmarking site GFXBench. Separately, the leaked image renders of the device was shared by a tipster, Onleaks. The U11 Plus is supposed to come with a 6-inch or 5.99-inch display featuring 1440×2880 pixels resolution.

The HTC U11 Plus is expected to be powered by a 2.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor paired Adreno 540 GPU. The phone is rumoured to be offered in two variants- 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. The handset is likely to ditch a 3.5mm headphone jack and opt for a USB Type-C port.

To recall, the existing HTC U11 smartphone was launched in India at a price tag of Rs 51,990. The key feature of the device is its Edge Sense technology which allows users to perform certain commands and functions. Besides, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, 5.5-inch Quad HD (1440p) display, 12MP primary rear camera with 16MP selfie snapper, and IP67 rating for resistance against dust and water. The U11 Plus is believed to maintain most of the features of the U11. Also, it will come with a slightly affordable price tag.
