Honor 6X to Enter India at the End of January

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has announced the launch of its Honor 6X smartphone in India in late-January. The company has not revealed the exact India price and availability of the upcoming Honor 6X smartphone. To recall, the smartphone was launched back in October in three variants in China.

The USP of the Honor 6X smartphone is its dual camera setup. In China the smartphone was made available in three variants- 3GB RAM + 32GB of internal storage priced at CNY 999 (roughly Rs 9,900), 4GB RAM +32GB storage priced at CNY 1,299 (roughly Rs 12,900), and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage priced at CNY 1,599 (roughly Rs 15,800). As of now, it is uncertain which variants of the Honor 6X will get launched in India.

The Honor 6X smartphone features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display covered by a 2.5D curved glass. The device packs a Kirin 655 octa-core processor coupled with Mali T830-MP2 GPU, 3GB/4GB of RAM, and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. The smartphone comes with a hybrid dual-SIM card slot.

The Honor 6X offers a dual camera setup at the rear panel. The dual camera setup was once a flagship exclusive feature and nowadays, mid-range devices are also offering such specifications. The Honor 6X’s camera setup includes a 12MP sensor with autofocus with PDAF support and a secondary 2MP sensor to capture the depth of field and bokeh effect. Up front, there is an 8MP selfie snapper. The company says that the smartphone has been designed while keeping youngsters in mind.

The other features of the smartphone include a dedicated fingerprint scanner at the rear panel which the company claims to be as fast as to unlock the device in 0.3 seconds. The device is powered by a 3340mAh battery with fast charging support. The connectivity options on the Honor 6X smartphone include dual-SIM hybrid card slots, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth. The handset runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS based on EMUI 4.1.

Recently, Coolpad Cool 1 smartphone with dual camera setup has been launched in India for an aggressive price tag of Rs 13,999. It will be interesting to see how Honor prices the smartphone to compete with others.
