Coolpad to Launch New Smartphone in India on September 23

The Chinese OEM, Coolpad is ready to expand its smartphone lineup in India. The company has sent out media invites for the launch event of a new smartphone which is scheduled for September 23. Although Coolpad hasn’t mentioned the name or features of the upcoming smartphone, the device is expected to be launched under its Note series.

The company has gained a successful penetration in Indian smartphone market. All smartphones from Coolpad are under the Rs 10,000 price-segment including the Coolpad Mega 2.5D, Coolpad Note 3, Note 3 Plus, and Note 3 Lite.

These smartphones are competing with Asus Zenfone Max, Panasonic P75, Gionee Marathon M3, etc. While, the smartphones in sub-Rs 10,000 segment are offered with battery specifications of 5000mAh, Coolpad never provided a battery bigger than 3000mAh.

The company has promoted the upcoming device as ‘Beast Among The Best’ in the invite. The term ‘Beast’ can relate with its possible high-end CPU or advanced RAM or a larger battery. The new smartphone is supposed to be powered by a Snapdragon processor by Qualcomm based on the teasers on company’s official Facebook page.

A poll on Coolpad’s forums has derived that the upcoming smartphone is likely to offer a 4GB of RAM. Most of the teasers unveiled by Coolpad are highlighting the number ‘5’ which might indicate a 5000mAh battery. But the company has kept silence about its new smartphone. Hence, the smartphone is building excitement among fans.

To recall, the Coolpad Note 3 smartphone was released last year with a price tag of Rs 8,999. The company launched the Note 3 Plus and Note 3 Lite afterwards. Recently a selfie-focused smartphone Coolpad Mega 2.5D was launched in India at a price of Rs 6,999. The device features a 5.5-inch IPS HD display with a 2.5D curved glass on top. The USP of Mega 2.5D is its front-facing camera of 8-megapixel which offers features like selfie customization, automatic age detection, f/2.2 aperture, and beautification.
