Chinese smartphone maker, Coolpad has recently introduced a new device called the Coolpad Cool 2 in its home country. It is the successor to Cool 1 smartphone. The Cool 2 smartphone is launched; however, no information related to the pricing and availability of the handset is received yet. The highlight of this phone is Face Unlock feature, IPX4 water-resistant, and 18:9 display.
It is worth mentioning that the announcement of the launch was made on the official Weibo (Chinese microblogging site) page. The company haven’t shared details about the availability and pricing of the device. To recall, the Coolpad Cool 1 was offered in– 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage model and 4GB RAM + 32GB internal storage variant. Both models were priced under Rs 10,000 in India.
Looking at the specifications and features, the Coolpad Cool 2 is expected to be launched in the budget or mid-range segment.
Coolpad Cool 2: Specifications
The Coolpad Cool 2 smartphone features a 5.7-inch HD+ (720×1440 (pixels) display with 2.5D curved glass on top. The phone brags 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6750 octa-core SoC paired with 4GB of RAMand 64GB of internal storage. The handset runs on Android 7.0 Nougat powered by Coolpad’s custom UI on top.
Coming to the camera features, the CoolPad Cool 2 boasts a dual camera setup of 13MP + 0.3MP sensors at the back. For selfies and video calling, there is a single 8MP front camera. Like mentioned before, the handset has 64GB of internal storage which can be further extended via microSD card.
The connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a Micro-USB port. The device receives its juice from a 3200mAh battery.
The Coolpad Cool 2 comes with traditional design and a metal unibody. It does not have any notches or fullscreen display which is very popular features these days in smartphones. The handset measures dimensions at 154.7×73.3x9mm.
