This Made in India BlackBerry smartphone Could Trump Top Chinese Brands

The physical QWERTY keyboard on smartphones is a rare feature these days. Still, there are a few who wish to have the latest and good looking QWERTY monoblock keyboard. For those, BlackBerry has brought its BlackBerry KEYone Limited Edition Black smartphone in India which has physical QWERTY keyboard alongside the added layer of security and software convenience. The phone will be made available exclusively on Amazon India from August 8 at a price tag of Rs 39,990.

The new BlackBerry mobiles in India are marketed and manufactured by Optiemus Infracom Limited. Citing the sources, IndianExpress has recently published a report which suggests that the BlackBerry KEYone smartphone is a Made in India product.

The report quoted Hardip Singh who is the Director at Optiemus. It’s worth mentioning that BlackBerry has three partners to manufacture and distribute its products globally; Optiemus is one of them.

“That is what lets us bring the phone here at global prices, which has never happened before,” Hardip Singh said.

Singh further said that BlackBerry still has a strong brand value in India. There are still more than a million active users of BlackBerry mobiles in India which are significant, he added. The KEYone will come with easy EMI plans which will help everyone to afford the new phone.

On the software front, the BlackBerry KEYone offer the security apps like DTEK and BlackBerry Password Keeper preloaded on it. Also, it has BlackBerry Hub, BlackBerry Workspaces, BlackBerry Calendar, and BlackBerry Productivity Edge.
