BlackBerry DTEK60- The Android-Powered Smartphone Launched

BlackBerry mobiles finally launched its much-awaited DTEK60 smartphone. It is the third BlackBerry mobile to run on Android operating system following the Priv and DTEK50. The newly launched BlackBerry DTEK60 is priced at $499 (roughly Rs 33,400). The smartphone is based on the hardware design of the Alcatel Idol 4s and hence, it looks almost identical to it.

The Blackberry DTEK60 smartphone features a 5.5-inch Quad HD (1440×2560 pixels) IPS display. Under its hood, there lies a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor clubbed with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The latest mobile runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and is expected to get the Android 7.0 Nougat updates in a short time in the future.

On the camera front, the latest BlackBerry mobile offers a 21MP primary rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and PDAF functionality. The camera is competent to record 4K videos at 30fps and slow-motion videos in 720p resolution at 120fps. On the front, it has an 8MP selfie shooter which comes with full HD recording capability.

The BlackBerry DTEK60 includes connectivity options like 4G, LTE, 3G, NFC, USB Type-C, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth. The sensors on board include an accelerometer, Hall Effect, gyroscope, ambient light, magnetometer, proximity, and fingerprint sensor. The smartphone has a 32GB internal storage which can be extended up to 2TB via microSD cards. The device is powered by a 3000mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.

The BlackBerry DTEK60 come pre-loaded with in-house productivity apps such as BBM, Keyboard, Hub, and Password Keeper. In addition, standard Google apps like Google Search, Gmail, YouTube, and Hangouts are there as well.

Moreover, like its predecessor DTEK50, the latest mobile also packs the security enhancements. The DTEK60 smartphone features a ‘DTEK by BlackBerry’ app which actively monitors the operating system and the installed apps and informs users about the concerns related to their data and privacy. From this, users can get known when the apps and other tries to access the user data and as a result of which, user’s privacy and safety is achieved.
