Asus Zenfone Pegasus 3S Unveiled with 5000mAh Battery

Asus recently introduced the Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom and Zenfone AR smartphones in an event at CES 2017. Now, the company has rolled out another smartphone in its Zenfone series in China, called as the Asus Zenfone Pegasus 3S. The newly launched Asus Zenfone Pegasus 3S is the successor to the Zenfone Pegasus 3 smartphone that was released back in June last year. The Zenfone Pegasus 3S flaunts a new design and offers improved performance.

The Asus Zenfone Pegasus 3S smartphone is offered in two variants based on storage- 32GB and 64GB. The price of the 64GB model is CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs 19,700) in China, whereas the company hasn’t disclosed the pricing of the other variant. The handset will go on sale this month in China; however, the company hasn’t put a word on its global launch as of now.

The highlight of the Zenfone Pegasus 3S is its massive 5000mAh battery which is claimed to deliver standby time up to 30 days by the company. In addition, the smartphone supports 5V/2A fast charging and comes with five smart power saving modes.

Coming to the specifications of the Asus Zenfone Pegasus 3S, the smartphone features a 5.2-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display with high screen-to-body ratio and a 2.5D glass on top. The device is accelerated by a 64-bit MediaTek MT 6750 octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. The storage can be pushed up to 2TB via microSD card.

On the camera front, the Asus Zenfone Pegasus 3S offers a 13MP primary rear camera with flash, f/2.0 aperture, and PDAF. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie shooter. Asus has offered PixelMaster technology in the device for intelligent shooting and ease of use.

The 4G VoLTE smartphone offers connectivity options like dual-SIM, 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS. The handset has a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button. The fingerprint scanner on the device can save up to five different fingerprint samples and has support for payments.

If the Asus Zenfone Pegasus 3S launched in India, it will go up against likes of the Motorola Moto M (Rs 17,999) and the Lenovo Z2 Plus (Rs 19,999).
