Asus has recently announced a new laptop under its VivoBook series in India. The new Asus VivoBook S14 (SS410UA) laptop is compact and boasts ultra-thin bezels around the display. The prices of the latest Asus laptop start at Rs 54,990 in India. However, from February 14 to February 28, the laptop can be purchased for Rs 44,990.
To recall, the Asus VivoBook S14 series was launched at the IFA 2017 event back in August last year. It is said to be targeted to those who are constantly on the go. The key highlight of the laptop is its slim bezel NanoEdge 14-inch Full HD display. It is an anti-glare IPS panel which is ideal for watching movies and gaming. The laptop features up to 77 percent of screen-to-body ratio.
The display of these laptops comes with Tru2Lite Video and Asus Splendid technologies. The Splendid technology is a visual optimisation technology which has multiple viewing modes- Eye Care, Vivid, Normal, and a Manual mode. Asus already has a strong presence in the Indian market and the ROG gaming series laptops are one of the popular laptop models in India.
Asus VivoBook S14: Specifications
The VivoBook S14 comes in three configuration- 7-th Gen Intel Core i3, 8-th Gen Intel Core i5 and 8-th Gen Intel Core i7. All these models run on Windows 10 operating system. It features a 14-inch Full HD (1080p) NanoEdge display packed in a 13-inch chassis. All three variants are accelerated by 8GB of RAM and come with up to 256GB SSD and 1TB HDD option.
The notebook has a full-size backlit keyboard. To make it comfortable, the company has offered 1.4mm key travel which is ideal for typing. The touchpad of the device has a fingerprint scanner with Windows Hello support.
The device has a three-cell lithium-ion battery which is claimed to deliver a life of up to 8 hours. On the connectivity front, the laptop includes a reversible USB 3.1 Type-C port, a standard USB 3.1 Type-C port, dual-band Wi-Fi, micro HDMI port, two USB 2.0 ports, Bluetooth, and a 2-in-1 card reader.
The Asus VivoBook S14 is a robust notebook thanks to its metallic design. The laptop is said to have gone through various durability tests. IT has passed a 20,000-cycle open-and-close hinge test, 10-million keystroke test, and a simulated high-altitude test at 10,000 feet for 24-hours.
