After its amazing display at the CES, Acer has now announced its first-ever 12-inch Chromebooks at the annual Bett conference. The new Acer Chromebook 512 and Chromebook Spin 512 come with 12-inch displays with a screen resolution of 1366 x 912 pixels and an aspect ratio of 3:2. These are pocket-friendly laptops specially designed for students. Additionally, these Chromebooks are expected to go on sale in April.
Both Chromebook 512 and Chromebook Spin 512 are touchscreen laptops that can be rotated at 180-degrees. This means that these Acer laptops can be laid flat on a surface. As for the price, the Acer Chromebook 512 comes with a price tag of $329.99 (roughly Rs 23,500). On the other hand, the Chromebook Spin 512 is priced at $449.99 (roughly Rs 32,000).

Like mentioned above, these Chromebooks come with a 12-inch IPS display and will come in touch and non-touch options. Furthermore, these Intel-powered laptops will be made available in three processing power variants which will include:
- Dual-core Intel Celeron N4000
- Quad-core Celeron N4100
- Quad-core Pentium Silver N500
Moreover, these Chromebooks will also be available in 4GB RAM and 8GB RAM variants with 32GB and 64GB internal storage respectively. Out of the two, the Acer Chromebook Spin 512 laptop can be rotated a full 360-degree, hence the Spin version. Apart from this, both the Chromebooks are built with rugged features (MIL-STD-810G) which can protect them from accidental damages. The keyboard comes with a spill resistant feature.
The connectivity features on these Chromebooks include:
- Two USB 3.0 ports
- Two USB Type-C ports
- MicroSD card slot
- Headphone jack
Also, these laptops come with an ERM stylus which can be used to note down points. This is a pretty handful feature for students. Lastly, these budget-friendly laptops will go up on sale starting April 2019.
