Chinese smartphone maker, Oppo is here with a huge surprise! A few days back, Oppo introduced a new ‘Made in India’ smartphone brand called Realme. The company has also listed the first smartphone of this online-only brand called Realme 1. Interestingly, Realme smartphones will be exclusively available only on Amazon India.

Seeing this latest step by Oppo, one can easily say that this move is going to upset the Xiaomi and Flipkart partnership. As for the Realme brand, the smartphones are designed for the young Indian consumers. The smartphones of this online-only brand will range across Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 20,000. Additionally, the first smartphone by Realme is all set to make its debut on May 15 via Amazon.

As of now, not much has been revealed about the upcoming smartphone in India. However, one look at the pictures reveals a ‘Black Diamond’ rear panel with triangular cut patterns. This similar design was also seen on Oppo A3 and Oppo F7 Diamond Black smartphone. Similarly, even the pricing details have not been revealed as of yet.

However, seeing that Realme is set to compete against Xiaomi, we can expect a similar price tag like the Xiaomi Redmi 5A. Furthermore, a microsite on Amazon India reveals a few features of the Realme 1 smartphone. According to the listing, the smartphone will flaunt a unique Black Diamond back design. The rear panel will also sport a camera sensor along with LED flash.

The design of the smartphone looks very similar to the latest Oppo smartphones in India. Apart from the design, the listing also mentions the durability of the Realme 1 smartphone. The durability of this upcoming smartphone will be one of its key highlights. As a matter of fact, the smartphone has undergone 20,000 drop and USB tests and 100,000 button tests to assure its quality.

Seeing how the smartphone is so closely similar to the Oppo A3, we can expect it to be an affordable and toned-down variant. And whether or not Realme is here to compete against Xiaomi will become clear only once the pricing and specification details are disclosed.
