Ringing Bells Claims to Deliver 65,000 Freedom 251 Smartphones

A Noida-based startup Ringing Bells has already delivered its first 5,000 Freedom 251 smartphone units and now the company is headed to deliver another 65,000 units. According to the company, Freedom 251 had received 7.5 crore registrations from about 18 states in India. The Freedom 251 smartphone features dual SIM with 3G support, 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 4-inch qHD IPS display at a price tag of Rs. 251.

The company says that the deliveries have been started in West Bengal, Himachal, New Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Bihar, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, J&K, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. The company has begun a lottery process to dispatch the handset units to the people. So once you are selected in the lucky draw, you will receive your handset any soon.

The USP of Freedom 251 is undoubtedly its ultra low price but apart from it, the phone offers 4-inch qHD IPS display, 3.2MP primary rear camera and a 0.3MP front-facing camera for video calling and selfies. The device is powered by a quad-core processor at a speed of 1.3GHz with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which can expand up to 32GB using microSD cards.

The phone runs on an Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. It supports dual 3G SIM micro cards, Wi-Fi and is backed by a 1450mAh battery. Considering the price of Freedom 251, the specifications are overwhelming. Though the device is at a basic level but it is fully functional. Hence Freedom 251 by Ringing Bells is country’s cheapest 3G smartphone. At the end of the day, what else you can buy in Rs. 251.

But at this point, the country is chasing the 4G services. And the Jio 4G Preview offer by Reliance has spoil the Indian smartphone users to use high-speed 4G services even before its commercial launch. So, buying Freedom 251 with 3G connectivity may not be a wise choice if you are a hardcore smartphone user.

On the other hand, Many 4G smartphones are coming at the price just as of 3G smartphones nowadays. Samsung has recently launched its cheapest 4G smartphone Samsung Z2 at a price of Rs. 4,590. While Reliance’s smartphone brand LYF is offering 4G smartphones at an even lesser price which starts from Rs. 2,999. The LYF brand is offering its 4G smartphones with Jio Preview offer which allows unlimited high-speed data and Jio Premium apps for 90 days.
