HMD Global has launched three new Nokia-branded smartphones, Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6 ever since the Nokia brand licensing. The company also released a new version of the iconic Nokia 3310 feature phone. HMD Global is now rumoured to launch a premium smartphone called as the Nokia 8 probably in June this year. The internet has been surrounded by the rumours and leaks about the Nokia 8 and a recent report has lightened up the camera specifications of the smartphone.
Several reports are claiming that the upcoming Nokia mobiles will offer Carl Zeiss lenses on it. Since Nokia or HMD Global hasn’t revealed anything about the camera lens integration in its upcoming mobiles, the information must be taken with a pinch of salt.
The Nokia 8 is rumoured to feature a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED bezel-less display with QHD (1440×2560 pixels) display. Under the hood, it will boast a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor paired with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. For photography, the Nokia 8 will offer a 24MP primary rear camera with Carl Zeiss lens and optical image stabilisation. Up front, the handset will feature a 12MP selfie snapper.
Nokia is expected to release its flagship smartphone in different variants based on storage size with similar specifications, much like Apple and Samsung. The upcoming mobiles will feature a metal unibody design. Coming to the pricing, the Nokia 8 is expected to be priced CNY 4,000 (roughly Rs 38,500) for the smaller model, while the higher variant will cost around CNY 4,500 (Rs 43,500).
The earlier reports suggested that the Nokia 8 will feature a 5.2-inch or 5.5-inch 2K (QHD) display with Carl Zeiss lens at the rear. Also, the reports suggested that the device will offer a dual camera setup with at least 23MP resolution.
Similar to the rebirth of Nokia 3310, Nokia will trigger the nostalgia about its brand among buyers. The Nokia N8 phone had Carl Zeiss lens equipped on it which was the best camera phone available at that time. The integration of Carl Zeiss lens on Nokia 8 will apparently add the same nostalgia. Carl Zeiss has been known as the top lens manufacturer for top-notch cameras.
