Huawei to offer 24 months of Software & Security updates on Honor Phones

Huawei is all set to strengthen its customer service with their initiative to provide regular and timely security and software updates for its Honor branded smartphone for 24 months.

Huawei’s e-commerce customer acquisition manager, Taylor Wimberly said that the company will provide software updates regularly for the first year, at least for once in every three months after the purchase of the device.

The software updates for the second year will be given with longer gaps and after the period of 24 months, Huawei will stop providing the support for the device. Mr. Taylor further said that the company will provide access to the software and security updates for fixing bugs. And even after the period of 24, the company will still provide the safety and security updates against any threats which are concerned with safety and security of the user. Huawei is aiming to ensure the safest and best user experience on their Honor devices.

The Huawei Honor 8 is currently available in China and USA only. However, its availability in India is not cleared by Huawei yet.

Talking about Huawei Honor 8, the smartphone features a 5.2-inch Full HD (1080×1920 pixel) IPS display with 2.5D glass design. The device runs on an Android 6 Marshmallow which is powered by a 2.3 GHz octa-core processor, 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 256GB.

The Honor 8 has the dual rear camera. In P9 smartphone, Huawei offered dual rear cameras of Leica brand, while in Honor 8, the company has presented modest dual camera setup. Honor has a 12MP dual rear camera setup with an 8MP front-facing camera. One sensor of rear camera shoots photographs in monochrome while the other captures images in colors. The combined image of both lenses results in much crisper and detailed photo, according to Huawei.  The smartphone is powered backed with a 3000mAh battery having fast charging support through a USB Type-C port.
