The Chinese smartphone maker Gionee has recently announced that it has received the pre-booking of as many as 74,682 units for its Gionee A1 smartphone which worth around Rs 150 crores in India. The company further said that the high figures are been generated in the first 10 days when the registration for Gionee A1 started.
Arvind R Vohra who is the Country CEO and MD at Gionee India told PTI that the Gionee A1 is the first flagship from the company which has witnessed pre-orders of as many as 74,682 units in the first ten days from the opening of registration. The pre-orders worth around Rs 150 crores till April 9, 2017. Furthermore, Gionee said that it is the first time when any phone in the price range of Rs 8,000 to Rs 25,000 has received this much pre-orders.
Gionee is running an ad campaign featuring Alia Bhatt with a focus on selfies as the theme of the campaign is ‘Selfistan’. The company has also roped in Diljit Dosanjh, Shruti Hasan, and Dulquer Salmaan as its regional brand ambassadors.
Gionee A1 is priced at Rs 19,999 and it was revealed along with the Gionee A1 Plus smartphone this year at the MWC 2017 event. The new A-series of Gionee mobiles has two key highlights- larger battery and fantastic selfie camera specifications. Both the smartphones include Waves MaxxAudio processing in it. The Gionee A1 handset is available in Grey, Black, and Gold colour options.

Coming to the camera department, the Gionee A1 offers a 16MP front-facing camera with 5P lens, a 1/3.06-inch sensor, a f/2.0 aperture, and selfie flash features. It also has a 13MP primary rear camera with Sony IMX258 1/3.06-inch sensor and dual-LED flash. It is a dual-SIM mobile running on Amiga 4.0 OS based on Android 7.0 Nougat.
The Gionee A1 features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display and boasts a MediaTek Helio P10 MT6755 processor under its hood. The handset has64GB of internal storage and the option to expand the storage via microSD card up to 256GB.
The device measures dimensions at 154.5×76.5×8.5mm and weighs 182 grams. The connectivity option on the device includes 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v4.0, micro USB, and Wi-Fi. It packs a 4010mAh battery in it which is compatible with the new 18W ultrafast charging feature.
In addition, the company said that the most of the total booking of A1 are received from the offline channel by paying Rs 2000. Lastly, all the same, the online booking is very small and simple.
