Sony launched its new A7III camera expanding its product portfolio in the Indian market. The Sony A7III full-frame Mirrorless camera features a newly-developed 24.2-megapixel back-illuminated “Exmor R CMOS sensor which is clubbed with a five-axis optical image (OIS) technology.

Sony had announced the camera with all the specifications globally last month. The camera will go on sale from March 26 with a price tag of Rs. 1,64,990 (body only). The entire bundle which will include the A7III body and 28-70 lens will come with a price tag of Rs. 1,79,990. Sony’s latest camera is designed to offer users with sharp and crystal clear images.

The camera supports fast-shooting experience and captures shots at 10fps speed with a mechanical shutter or in silent shooting. It offers an autofocus coverage of up to 93 percent. Sony has also introduced 4D Focus capabilities which have 425 contrast autofocus points that work with a 693-point focal-plane phase-detection AF system.

Furthermore, the BIONZ X processing engine in the camera boosts the processing speeds by nearly 1.8 times. The Sony A7III camera offers an ISO range of 100-51200 which can be expanded to ISO 50-204800 for still images. It also comes with 15-stop dynamic range at low sensitivity settings.

The camera packs high-precision stabilisation and can achieve a 5.0-step shutter speed using gyro sensors and algorithms. Additionally, the camera supports an updated image processing system that allows accurate AF/auto exposure tracking for up to 177 standard JPEG images, 40 compressed RAW images or 89 compressed RAW images.

The camera also supports video recording. For video recordings, the camera allows users to capture content in 4K HDR. Moreover, users can also capture videos in 120fps with 1080p resolution. The camera offers colour profile options like S-Log2 and S-Log3. Monitoring compositions are easy as this camera features a 2.3-million-dot XGA OLED viewfinder.

Connectivity options of the Sony A7III camera include a USB Type-C port and Wi-Fi support. Also, the camera comes with dual media slots, with one supporting UHS-II type SD memory cards. The latest camera by Sony is both dust and moisture resistant. However, it is not completely weather resistant. The company also claims that the Sony A7III camera offers the world’s longest battery life for a Mirrorless camera.
