Super Mario Run is finally running the world. The newly released game has just beaten the day one downloads’ records of Pokémon Go game.

According to an Apptopia report, the Super Mario Run has crossed 2,850,000 downloads on its release day at the App Store.

While so, Sensor Tower has reported 5 million worldwide downloads of the Super Mario Run and App Annie claimed that it has been downloaded over 3.5 million times just in the US in the first 14 hours. On the other side, Pokémon Go had pulled 900,000 downloads when it was first launched which is far behind than the new game download figures.

The Super Mario Run game has been launched by Nintendo for iOS platform on December 15. The game features the beloved Italian plumber named as Mario to iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch as of now across the world. The game brings nostalgia to those who grew up playing the Mario games.

The Super Mario Run game does come with a cost. The game is priced at Rs 620 in India and $9.99 in the US. The game is one of the most expensive games available on the App Store. However, you can try the game for free and will require an in-app purchase for full access. You can still play a few levels of the game for free. It hasn’t mentioned how many game levels are available for free. The game is currently available for download on iOS devices for now. Nintendo has planned the Android release of the game for next year.

The Super Mario Run game is available at iTunes and it consumes about 205MB of data for downloading. The game will take up about 370MB of storage space and iOS devices with 16GB or less storage will face problem for playing this game. Moreover, the game requires an active internet connection all the time to play the Super Mario Run. The company has taken this decision to battle with the piracy.

According to AppleInsider, the game could consume 75MB of data per hour to play the game. Such high bandwidth requirement is not user-friendly in countries like India.
