Sony Xperia XZ Premium with Snapdragon 835 Launched in India

Sony has recently unveiled its premium flagship smartphone, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium in India. It’s worth mentioning that it is the first smartphone to come with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC equipped under its hood. Previously, OnePlus 5 was rumoured to be the first smartphone to get launched with Snapdragon 835 chipset in India. The latest Xperia XZ Premium smartphone will be made available at select retail stores, Sony Centre, and Amazon India from June 12, in India at a price tag of Rs 59,990.

The Sony Xperia XZ Premium smartphone is up for pre-bookings until June 11. The customers availing the pre-booking facility will be eligible to get a Sony SRS-XB20 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker (usually priced at Rs 8,990) for free of cost. Moreover, the company is also offering free Sony LIV subscription for three months which worth Rs 349 for all buyers. Additionally, in-game credits of 5,200 for Gameloft Modern Combat 5 are bundled with the device.

Sony Xperia XZ Specifications

To refresh, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium was first released at MWC 2017. Despite its top-end Snapdragon 835 processor, another key feature of the smartphone is its camera. The handset offers a 19MP Motion Eye Camera featuring a 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS memory stacked sensor. The sensor is competent to record videos at 960 frames per second. Furthermore, it has a 1.22-micron pixel sensor, a 25mm f/2.0 lens, and supports predictive hybrid autofocus and predictive capture.

Up front, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium offers a 13MP Exmor RS sensor of 1/3.06-inch paired with a 22mm wide-angle f/2.0 lens. Both the cameras come with SteadyShot technology which includes 5-axis stabilisation. The device also comes with an IP65/68 rating which ensures dust and water resistance. Furthermore, there is Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on both front and rear panel of the device.

Coming to the key specifications, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium features a 5.5-inch 4K (2160×3840 pixels) HDR Triluminos display. The display sports an X-Reality for Mobile display engine and has an sRGB 138 percent spectrum. It is a dual-SIM mobile running on Android 7.1 Nougat OS. Additionally, the device boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, and external storage up to 256GB via microSD card. It has a 3230mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support.
