Sony Xperia L1 with 2GB RAM, 5.5-inch Display Launched

Sony on Monday unveiled a new entry-level smartphone called as the Sony Xperia L1. The device boasts a near edge-to-edge sharp display. It will be available for purchase in select markets including Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America, Middle East, and North America. Though the company has not revealed the pricing of the Xperia L1 smartphone as of now, it is expected to be a budget mobile which will be available sometime in April.

Coming to the specifications, the Sony Xperia L1 features a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display. The device is powered by a 1.45GHz MediaTek MT6737T quad-core processor paired with Mali T720 GPU, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. Furthermore, the device supports storage extension via microSD card slot. It is a dual-SIM mobile running on Android 7.0 Nougat OS.

On the camera department, the Sony Xperia L1 offers a 13MP primary rear camera with f/2.2 aperture. Also, it has a 5MP front-facing the camera for selfies and video calling. The connectivity options on the device include 4G LTE, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, GLONASS, Wi-Fi, and USB Type-C for data sync and charging.

The Xperia L1 will be offered in three colour options- Black, Pink, and White. The handset packs a 2620mAh battery with Qnovo Adaptive Charging which is Sony’s proprietary technology. In addition, the device features Sony’s STAMINA mode which ensures battery saving. The smartphone measures dimensions at 151x74x8.7mm and weighs 180 grams.

The Sony Xperia L1 features an almost edge-to-edge display on sides. Although, the top and bottom bezels are still thick similar as the Xperia XZ Premium and Xperia XA1 Ultra which were released last month at the MWC event.

To recollect, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium is the world’s first smartphone to feature 4K HDR display. The handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with 4GB of RAM, 3230mAh battery, support for Quick Charge 3.0, and Android Nougat OS.

The Sony Xperia XZ Premium offers a 19MP primary rear camera with company’s own Motion Eye camera system which is the world’s first memory stacked sensor. Up front, it has a 13MP selfie snapper with f/2.0 aperture.
