Reliance Launches New JioFi 4G LTE Hotspot in India at Rs.999

Reliance Jio has added launched a new device to its JioFi family. The latest JioFi 4G LTE hotspot is available at a price tag of Rs. 999 down from Rs. 2,499. The device which is dubbed as JioFi JMR815 4G Hotspot is exclusively available through Flipkart. It comes with a one-year warranty and supports download speeds of up to 150Mbps and upload speeds of up to 50Mbps.

When compared to the previous devices from the series, the newly launched JioFi features a new design and comes with an enhanced battery backup. Interestingly, the new JioFi 4G LTE hotspot device comes with a “Designed in India” tag with support for 4G calling and 64GB of expandable memory capacity. We have seen Reliance offer some amazing data plans. The company is also one of the best VoLTE service providers in India.

We have seen previously launched models of JioFi sport an egg-shape design. However, the new JioFi 4G LTE hotspot features a circular design with physical power on/off buttons and Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS). The notification lights on the device display 4G, Wi-Fi strength and battery level.

Additionally, JioFi JMR815 allows users with 2G or 3G smartphones to make HD voice and video calls. Though, users will have to download and install the Jio 4G Voice App to use this feature. The device is powered by an ALT3800 processor with support for FDD-Band 3, Band 5 and TDD-Band 40.

Up to 32 users can connect to the JioFi 4G LTE hotspot device to connect to a high-speed data network. Connectivity options for the device also include 31 users on Wi-Fi and one on USB connection. Furthermore, JioFi allows users to connect up to 10 Wi-Fi enabled devices such as laptops, tablets, smartphones, Smart TVs, CCTV cameras and more.

As mentioned above, the JioFi device supports storage expansion up to 64GB with a MicroSD card slot. In terms of the battery, the JioFi 4G LTE hotspot is fuelled by a 3000mAh battery. The device takes up to 3.5 hours to fully charge and provides 8 hours of connectivity. When compared, the first JioFi model featured a 2300mAh battery. So Reliance has definitely improved its JioFi in terms of battery.

Earlier this month, Reliance introduced a new data plan for its JioFi users. The plan which costs Rs. 1,999 offers benefits like free data and vouchers worth Rs. 3,595. Users can choose from any of the three per day data plans- 1.5GB, 2GB and 3GB. Also, vouchers worth Rs.2,300 can be used for Apps like Paytm, Aji and Reliance Digital.
