Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 Announced For Mid-Range Smartphones

Qualcomm has finally unveiled its upcoming 675 platform which is designed for mid-range smartphones. This latest processor is an upgrade of the Snapdragon 670 processor that had launched this year. We will see Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor make its way to smartphones from early 2019 onwards.

The processor is built using an octa-core Kryo 460 CPU, Adreno 612 GPU and 11nm LPP process technology. This new platform has been designed with a major focus on gaming, artificial intelligence and photography. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor will also feature the Quick Charge 4+ technology. And, as for the network, the Snapdragon 975 SoC will support Qualcomm X12 LTE modem.

In a press statement, Kedar Kondap, Vice President of Product Management, Qualcomm Technologies, said, “Packed with advanced gaming abilities, remarkable camera performance, and a multi-core AI Engine, Snapdragon 675 based smartphones will bring new experiences to consumers globally.”

Gaming

On the gaming end, this platform will allow smartphones to launch games 30 per cent faster, run at faster frame rates and faster browsing experience. Qualcomm has promised 90 per cent fewer janks when it comes to gaming. The processor has been optimized to support games such as PUBG, Unity, CrossFire Mobile and much more.

Photography

For photography, the Snapdragon 675 SoC will come with support for triple camera, 4K video capturing, Bokeh mode, 3D face unlock, HDR, high-resolution depth-sensing, and much more. The triple camera setup will support 5x telephoto, 2.5x wide-angle and super wide-angle lens. Additionally, the processor will also bring in the limitless slo-mo feature allowing users to record at 720p.

Artificial Intelligence

With Qualcomm Snapdragon 675, users will experience 50 per cent faster and more responsive AI. This feature will bring in enhanced security, 3x faster safe unlock, responsive voice assistants, improved payment security, real-time style transfer, etc.

Along with announcing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor, Qualcomm also revealed that its Quick Charge technology is seen on over 1000 smartphones, 700 accessories and 100 controllers.
