OnePlus has recently confirmed that it will launch its upcoming flagship smartphone with a moniker as OnePlus 5. The company has also revealed a Summer launch date. Now, a fresh leak has claimed that the upcoming OnePlus mobile will come with 8GB of RAM instead of the rumoured 6GB of RAM.

According to a leaked screenshot shared on the Chinese social networking site Weibo, the OnePlus 5 smartphone will feature boast 8GB of RAM coupled with 128GB of internal storage. The device will run on Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS with HydrogenOS in China (OxygenOS).

Storage Variants

Citing the sources, the leaked screenshot was spotted by AndroidPure. So, there is a possibility that the OnePlus 5 might come in two memory variants- 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM with an option to choose 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. As there is no official word has come from OnePlus as of now, we will suggest taking the leaks with a pinch of salt.

Last week, the OnePlus 5 was spotted on online retail site with some key specifications, price and availability details. As per the listing, the OnePlus 5 smartphone will be made available for a price of $449 (roughly Rs 28,800) in the US.

The upcoming mobile was listed on OppoMart which should be taken with a pinch of salt as the images on listing showed a vertical rear camera setup, however, a Weibo leak had challenged that the OnePlus 5 will feature a horizontal dual rear camera setup.

Specifications

The earlier rumours suggested that the OnePlus 5 will include Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 SoC. The phone is speculated to feature a 5.5-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) display. The past rumours also suggested a 23MP primary rear camera on the device, while the recent rumours have claimed that the handset will pack a pair of 12MP sensors with one standard RGB lens and one monochrome lens. Up front, the retail listing reveals that there will be an 8MP selfie snapper which is surprising as the latest OnePlus 3T comes with a 16MP sensor.

In addition, the previous report also claimed that the OnePlus 5 will come with a dual-edge curved display, a slimmer bezels, and hardware navigation keys. The thinner bezels are likely to shift the fingerprint sensor to the rear panel, although a Weibo post advised that the fingerprint sensor will remain on the front.
