Rumors about a new variant of OnePlus flagship device had recently grabbed the search portals, and now a recent post on Weibo made by a OnePlus designer indicates that the upcoming mobile from the company could be the OnePlus 3T. The alleged device has already received China Compulsory Certification (CCC) for the model number A3010.
The OnePlus 3 is believed to be the best and the fastest smartphone one can buy currently in the market. But, the smartphone missed the Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 821 SoC which was released just after the official launch of OnePlus 3. And hence, the flagship device from OnePlus carries outdated specs.
To make it up to the mark, OnePlus is looking for a new variant of the OnePlus 3 smartphone with bumped-up specifications and features, named as the OnePlus 3T.
According to a PhoneRadar report, the upcoming mobile from OnePlus will be called as the OnePlus 3T and it will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset clocked at 2.4GHz, instead of the 2.15GHz Snapdragon 820 processor seen on the existing OnePlus 3 smartphone. Moreover, the new OnePlus 3T variant will deliver 10 percent improved performance due to these hardware changes.
The upcoming mobile, OnePlus 3T is expected to run on an Oxygen OS based on Google’s latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS. The popular Dash Fast charging support is also expected to be featured in the upcoming mobile.
The OnePlus 3T is likely to retain the same design and metal unibody casing as of the existing OnePlus 3.
While so, there is no official confirmation from OnePlus about the new variant of their flagship device. OnePlus discontinued its X series and expressed that the company will launch only one flagship device in a year since then. By releasing only one flagship smartphone in a year, the company will able to deliver quality and maintain brand image. However, the decision to launch a new variant of flagship device is not signifying the sudden shift from that thought.
Still, if the OnePlus 3T smartphone makes its way to market, then the smartphone may bring more changes in terms of storage, camera and other specifications on its launch day. As of now, the OnePlus 3T smartphone looks quite exciting and powerful on its own.
