Google is expected to introduce its flowery GIF animated Home screen button on upcoming HTC Nexus Sailfish & Nexus Marlin smartphones. The phones may run on latest Android 7.0 Nougat. The Nexus Sailfish is likely to be the low-priced model whereas the Nexus Marlin will be the premium and high-end variant with top-of-the-line specs and a metal body. Both the phones are expected to launch this year.
How’s the New Animated Home button?
According to the leaked GIF image by Android Police when the home button is long pressed, four-colored small dots appears with a swift animation. This animation could be a teaser to Google Assistant features. Google Assistant is an upcoming feature on Android Mobile Phones which will enable users to actually have a conversation with company’s new virtual assistant. The report further added that the animation feature will only work when Google Now feature is enabled on the smartphone.
Earlier this year, Google Assistant was previewed at Google I/O 2016 which will take Google Now services to all-new-level. The Google Assistant service will let you interact with your smartphone using a virtual assistance powered with contextual awareness. So now you can ask questions to Google which will be automatically picked up by its virtual assistant and then answers for the same will returned by your smartphone.

The upcoming HTC Nexus Sailfish is likely to sport a 5-inch 1080p display, 4GB of RAM coupled with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC processor with 32GB internal storage. The smartphone is expected to have a 12MP primary rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. The phone will be backed at 3000mAh battery with USB Type-C port for charging. The premium variant HTC Nexus Marlin is likely to sport a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM coupled with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC with 32GB and 128GB storage options. It will have same 12MP primary camera with an 8MP selfie shooter. But the battery of Nexus Marlin is of 3450mAh with USB Type-C port.
